The Book Of...[Your Name Here]
This press release announces The Book Of...[Your Name Here] as a photographic book series that raids the origin myth of photography and drags it into the cheap digital present. Williams returns to Daguerre not out of antiquarian reverence, but to expose what the early photographic miracle necessarily lost: duration, instability, and the image of time as it passes. Against the single daguerreotype portrait, the series proposes hundreds of continuous images captured during a fifteen-minute sitting with an obsolete FujiFilm FinePix camera. The result is both mock-historical and serious: a democratic, excessive answer to the polished lie of singular representation. The books become a portrait machine for the missing intervals that official photography has always pretended not to lose.
